Peerless Rye 3 Years Old
Country: USA
Region: Kentucky
Type: Rye Whiskey
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 54.55%
Score: 95 Points
If you like the 2-year-old Peerless Rye, you’re going to love the 3-year-old version coming in December! The nose is just like the 2-year-old version – aromatic and gentle with baking spices, hazelnut and dried herbs, but with a slightly refined aroma. The taste starts out soft at first, but doesn’t stay that way for long. The spices come alive with clove, black pepper, and chili powder notes that are nicely balanced with caramel candy, honey, and a touch of molasses that wasn’t prominent in the younger version. The finish is long and fades away gently with an excellent balance of spices and sweetness. Excellent! (October, 2018)
