Aberfeldy 1999 Single Cask #3
Country: Scotland
Region: Highlands
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 57%
Score: 93 Points
This distillery-only bottling comes from a single ex-Sherry cask filled in 1999 and removed from the warehouse in August of 2018 for hand-filling bottles in the Aberfeldy/Dewar’s World of Whisky visitors center. The nose is intense with notes of dark fruits, plums, raisins, toffee, oak tannins, and a hint of brandy. The taste is thick and chewy – almost crunchy – with clove, licorice, a hint of anise, plums, raisin bread, honey, and a hint of oak tannins. The finish is long, rich, and complex with dark fruits, licorice, and lingering hints of spice. Excellent! (September, 2018)
