Belle Meade Bourbon Madeira Cask Finish
Country: USA
Region:
Type: Bourbon
Bottler: Nelson's Green Brier Distillery
ABV: 45.2%
Score: 91 Points
The Nelson brothers of Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery in Tennessee use the Belle Meade name on their sourced whiskies while their own whiskey matures, and this is a blend of six and nine-year-old Bourbons finished in Malmsey Madeira casks from Portugal. The nose has notes of peaches, apricots, crème brûlée, honey, and soft spices. The taste has a good balance of spices and fruits with hints of clove, allspice, peaches, vanilla, caramel candy, and honey. The finish has a nice kick of spices along with touches of honey and dried fruits. Nice! (September, 2018)
