Each August, Phil Brandon of Rock Town Distillery in Little Rock creates a special whiskey to celebrate the distillery’s anniversary. The 2018 8th anniversary edition is a Bottled in Bond Arkansas Straight Rye that may be the best whiskey from Rock Town yet.

The nose has good rye spices with clove, allspice, nutmeg, and a hint of dill balanced by caramel, honey, and vanilla notes. The taste has a good buildup of those same spices with caramel, honey, and vanilla adding depth and complexity in the background. The finish is long with lingering spices and a touch of honey.
