Charbay Doubled & Twisted
Country: USA
Region: California
Type: Blended Whiskey
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 45%
Score: 91 Points
Charbay Master Distiller Marko Karakasevic loves to work with fully-brewed (hops and all) beers in making his whiskies. Doubled & Twisted blends 50% of his 3-year-old Straight Malt whiskey with a 7-year-old Stout whiskey (30%) and a 3-year-old Pilsner whiskey (20%) using beers specially brewed for Charbay by Bear Republic Brewing.
The nose is floral with notes of freshly-cut grass, nutmeg, allspice, oak, and a hint of cocoa beans. The taste is spicy and warming with clove, cinnamon, nutmeg, dried flowers, crème brûlée, and a hint of chocolate fudge in the background. The finish is very long with lingering spices. (June, 2018)
