This Swedish single malt comes from an island located between Sweden and Denmark, and is Hven’s medium-peated expression. The nose has notes of wood smoke, pears, apple pie, and hints of ginger root and sea salt. The taste has a nice smokiness along with spicy touches of clove and cardamom, while a subtle apple pie fruitiness and a hint of ginger add good balance and complexity. The finish is long, but subtle with hints of smoke, dried fruits, and soft spices. (June, 2018)
