Islay Mist
Country: Scotland
Region:
Type: Blended Scotch
Bottler: Macduff International
ABV: 40%
Score: 89 Points
This Blended Scotch has a healthy bit of Laphroaig blended with Speyside malts and grain whiskies, and the nose has classic Islay peat smokiness, along with touches of seaweed, heather, and dried fruits. The taste is smoky and slightly medicinal, but tempered by barley sugar sweetness, salted caramel, heather, dried fruits, and oak. The finish has a long, subtle smokiness balanced by espresso, toffee, and honey notes. (May, 2018)
