This whisky is similar to Gretzky’s Red Cask Whisky, but is finished in Ice Wine casks from the hockey legend’s wineries instead of red wine casks. The nose is sweet and gentle with notes of honey, butterscotch, green grapes, soft spices, and just a hint of oak. The taste has a good balance of sweetness and spices, with honey, maple, and butterscotch notes complemented nicely by allspice, a hint of ginger root, caramel, and vanilla for a well-rounded flavor. The finish is long and gentle with lingering spices. (April, 2018)
