Limeburners Darkest Winter
Country: Australia
Region: Western Australia
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 64%
Score: 87 Points
This unique Western Australia single malt is made with peated barley using locally-sourced peat and bottled at a pungent and powerful cask strength of 64% ABV. The nose is peaty and medicinal with touches of honey and vanilla. The taste is thick and slightly tart at first, followed by a powerful burst of peat smoke and cinnamon with honey and vanilla in the background. The finish is long and smoky with lingering spices. Minimal complexity, but a good, simple whisky that delivers on its peaty promise. (March, 2018)
