Glynnevan Double Barreled Canadian Rye
Country: Canada
Region:
Type: Canadian Rye Whiskey
Bottler: Authentic Seacoast Distilling Company
ABV: 43%
Score: 89 Points
This whisky starts out at an undisclosed distillery in Western Canada, then makes its way to Guysborough, Nova Scotia for a second maturation period at Authentic Seacoast Distillery (which is laying down its own stocks for future releases). The result is a whisky with notes of toffee, butterscotch, honey, muted spices, and a hint of hazelnut on the nose. The taste has a creamy mouthfeel and good spicy notes of clove, allspice, and nutmeg, while touches of honey, vanilla, and hazelnut in the background add balance. The finish is long with gently fading spices and a good sweetness underneath. (January, 2018)
