Ballantine’s The Miltonduff 15
Country: Scotland
Region: Speyside
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 40%
Score: 91 Points
This 15-year-old Speyside single malt comes from one of the distilleries that makes the key component whiskies in the Ballantine’s range of blended Scotch whiskies, and is part of the first Ballantine’s Single Malt Series. The nose has notes of peach nectar, orange pekoe tea, caramel, toasted almonds, and muted spices. Those spices come alive on the palate, though, with cinnamon and clove balanced nicely by dried flowers, honey vanilla, and a hint of licorice in the background. The finish has lingering spices, honey, and touches of chocolate and toffee. Very nice. (January, 2018)
