Glann ar Mor Only Rye
Country: France
Region:
Type: Single Malt Rye Whisky
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 46%
Score: 88 Points
Sadly, a whisky that will likely never be repeated. Glann ar Mor founder Jean Donnay distilled this from 100% malted rye before France’s official standard for “Breton Whisky” took effect in 2016 requiring the use of 100% malted barley. The nose has notes of rye bread dough, a hint of dill, allspice, honey, vanilla, and garden soil. The taste is rye bread, clove, cooked bananas, and vanilla – while the finish lingers nicely withy gentle spices, honey, vanilla, and a touch of oak. (January, 2018)
