Johnnie Walker Blue Label Ghost & Rare Edition. Image courtesy Diageo. While the standard Johnnie Walker Blue Label may be blended from as many as 40 different whiskies, the debut whisky in this limited edition range uses just eight – including three from the closed Brora, Pittyvaich, and Cambus distilleries. Master Blender Jim Beveridge has created a whisky with a smooth and aromatic nose that has hints of dark chocolate, citrus fruits, honey, and a hint of hazelnuts. The taste has a great balance of subtle spices, with white pepper and ginger balanced by pineapple, Clementine oranges, and dark chocolate. The finish is long and gentle, with just the barest whiff of smoke in the background. Excellent! (December, 2017)
