Glenfiddich 18
Country: Scotland
Region: Speyside
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 43%
Score: 92 Points
We usually think of “small batch” in terms of Bourbons, but Glenfiddich has applied it to this 18-year-old single malt blended from batches of 150 barrels. The nose is honey-sweet with subtle spices, dried fruits, and a hint of candied pear. There’s a thick mouthfeel with a good buildup of spices including clove, white pepper, and allspice along with orange peel, dried flowers, and a hint of clover honey in the background. The finish is long with gently fading spices and a nice balance with subtle sweet notes underneath. (April, 2017)
