This straight Rye is distilled at MGP for the fledgling Sagamore Spirit Distillery in Baltimore, which will begin distilling in 2017 and eventually bottle its own rye whiskey. The nose has notes of cocoa, clove, allspice, dark chocolate, a hint of molasses, and caramel apples. The taste has a slight tartness with black cherries, clove, allspice, molasses, and caramel apples. The finish has gently fading spices with hints of cocoa and black cherries. (January, 2017)
