Wieser Single Malt Pinot Noir Cask
Country: Austria
Region:
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 40%
Score: 87 Points
This single malt from Austria’s Markus Wieser Distillery is quadruple-distilled and matured for a total of seven years, with finishing time in Pinot Noir casks from the family’s winery. The nose is light with fruity notes of red grapes, peaches, fresh berries, and red apples, along with a nice maltiness, a hint of straw, and muted spices. The taste is thick and fruity with berry cobbler, clove and white pepper spices that develop with time, honey, and a touch of red grapes. The finish is long with a gently fading fruitiness.
