Hidden Copper Bourbon

Type: Bourbon
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 45%
Score: 84 Points
This whiskey from County Seat Spirits in Allentown, Pennsylvania gets its name from the historical story of the Liberty Bell being spirited out of Philadelphia to Allentown during the Revolutionary War to keep it out of British hands. The mashbill is a combination of Pennsylvania-grown corn, wheat, and malted barley, and the nose has notes of dark chocolate, fudge, molasses, vanilla, oak, and muted spices. The taste starts off with caramel cola followed by a blast of cinnamon and black pepper balanced by fudge, vanilla, and oak. The finish is slightly dry with lingering spices. Very nice. (July, 2016)
