Douglas Laing Old Particular Port Dundas 1988. Image courtesy Douglas Laing & Co. This single grain whisky from the closed Port Dundas grain distillery in Scotland was bottled in 2015 after 27 years of maturation. The nose has notes of toasted bread, soft spices, peaches, and baked apples. The taste has spicy notes of white pepper and cinnamon, along with licorice, peaches, and a hint of baked apples as the spices begin to fade. The finish is long and aromatic with gently fading spices and baked fruits. (June, 2016)
