Lock, Stock, & Barrel Rye. Image courtesy Cooper Spirits. While the source of this 13-year-old rye whisky has never been disclosed by US-based Cooper Spirits, it’s believed to come from Alberta Distillers in Canada. The nose has notes of muted spices with allspice, clove, and cinnamon, along with vanilla, honey, caramel, and butterscotch. The taste is spicy and tart with clove, cinnamon, anise, honey, vanilla, and caramel candy. The finish is long and gently fading. (January, 2016)
