Thomas H. Handy Sazerac Rye 2015 Edition
Country: USA
Region: Kentucky
Type: Rye
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 63.45%
Score: 91 Points
This uncut, unfiltered rye is part of the annual Buffalo Trace Antique Collection, and the 2015 edition was distilled in 2009. The nose has notes of allspice, anise, clove, linseed oil, vanilla, and a touch of lemon zest. The taste is thick, spicy, and intense with a touch of fig cookies at first followed by a burst of clove, allspice, and cinnamon. The finish is long with smoothly fading spices. (December, 2015)
