Amrut Bourbon Cask
Country: India
Region:
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 62.8%
Score: 88 Points
This Indian single malt was first matured in a virgin American oak cask, then finished in an ex-Bourbon cask before being bottled at cask strength with no chill-filtering.
The nose is intensely aromatic with notes of vanilla, almond, nutmeg, honey, and a hint of molasses. The taste is thick and spicy with a combination of chili powder, cinnamon, and black pepper spices that fade very slowly, but do reveal hints of honey, almond, and nutmeg underneath. The finish is long with those same spicy notes and hints of honey and caramel cola underneath. (November, 2015)
