Old Pulteney Flotilla 2005 Vintage
Country: Scotland
Region: Highlands
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 46%
Score: 90 Points
This is the third vintage release in Old Pulteney’s Flotilla series, with 12,000 bottles available only in France. It was matured in first-fill ex-Bourbon casks, and the nose has a hint of brine, along with roasted almonds, vanilla, and a hint of charred oak. The taste is spicy, briny, and tart with a good balance of all three and notes of ginger, banana, cinnamon, coconut, honey, vanilla, and lemon zest. The finish is long with a good balance of spice and tartness and just a lingering hint of brine. (September, 2015)
