Glenmorangie 1975 Tain L’Hermitage
Country: Scotland
Region: Highlands
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 46%
Score: 95 Points
This classic reappeared briefly in 2015 as part of Glenmorangie’s 1970’s Collection after a few bottles were found in the company’s old Broxburn warehouse. The original version was bottled in 2003, but both spent 28 years in oak with the final four years in Côte du Rhône red wine barriques from L’Hermitage.
The nose is fruity with notes of figs, dates, honeycomb, molasses, red grapes, and a whiff of smoke. The taste is bold and brash with dark chocolate, cinnamon, and vanilla notes. The finish is long and dry with notes of red grapes and peaches. Excellent! (September, 2015)
