Arran 17 Private Cask
Country: Scotland
Region: Highlands
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 55.7%
Score: 93 Points
This sherry hogshead cask was filled in 1996 and bottled for The Whisky Exchange in 2014, and just 245 bottles were released.
The nose is classic Christmas cake, along with mulled spices, a hint of cedar, vanilla, and red grapes. The taste is mouth-filling and spicy with great cinnamon and clove notes, candied orange slices, and a hint of honey. The finish is amazingly long with slowly fading spices and a touch of dark chocolate. Outstanding! (February, 2015)
