This whisky was created with the help of Glenmorangie “Cask Masters” members from around the world, who picked a Manzanilla Sherry finish from three selected by Dr. Bill Lumsden (the others were Grand Cru Bordeaux and Burgundy wine casks) along with the name, which means “The Chosen” in Scots Gaelic.
The nose has notes of red grapes, honey, vanilla, a touch of oak, brown sugar, and a hint of orange oils. The taste is thick, oily, and fruity with red grapes, plums, prunes, honey, brown sugar, molasses, and again, a hint of orange oils. The finish is dry with (January, 2015)
