Photo ©2014 by Mark Gillespie. One of the four Private Collection Ultra releases in late 2014 to mark the transition between the third and fourth generations of Urquhart family members at Gordon & MacPhail. At 61 years, this is the oldest known bottling of Linkwood, and was selected by Rosemary (Urquhart) Rankin and her son, G&M UK Sales Director Stephen Rankin from a first-fill hogshead cask. Only 55 bottles were produced.

The nose is light with notes of raisins, almonds, nougat, a hint of peaches, and rose petals. The taste is dry, fruity, and rich with sultanas, fresh berries, plums, raisins, a touch of marzipan, and dark chocolate. The finish has notes of almonds, cocoa, a touch of toffee, and sultanas that linger nicely. A few drops of water explodes the fruitiness on the palate and finish. Outstanding! (October, 2014)
