Belgrove Peated Rye
Country: Australia
Region:
Type: Rye
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 57%
Score: 89 Points
Ever wondered what a peated Rye whiskey would taste like? Belgrove answers the question with this expression, which is lightly peated and has notes of heather, honey, mild spicy touches of pepper, allspice, and nutmeg, and a whiff of shortbread cookies along with the subtle peatiness. The taste is smoky and spicy with good peatiness, a blast of cinnamon, and notes of honey, nutmeg, and heather. The finish is lingering and smoky. (July, 2014)
