Abraham Bowman Double Barrel
Country: USA
Region: Virginia
Type: Bourbon
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 50%
Score: 88 Points
This Bourbon from Virginia’s A. Smith Bowman Distillery is matured for seven years and two months, with the final 11 months in new charred oak casks and a bit of rotation in the distillery’s warehouses to boost the air circulation.
The nose has notes of toasted oak, caramel, vanilla, honey, and a hint of nutmeg. The taste is peppery, intense, and strong with vanilla, honey, and toasted oak notes underneath. The finish is long and spicy with a good peppery note, and a hint of honey adds balance. (April, 2014)
