Old Pulteney 1990
Country: Scotland
Region: Highlands
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 46%
Score: 92 Points
This bottling brings together ex-Bourbon and Spanish Oak ex-Sherry casks, and was not chill-filtered. As a result, the nose is full of aroma with driftwood smoke, briny wet sand, ginger, vanilla, dried apricots, and a hint of clove. The taste is peppery and smoky with ginger and cinnamon, lemon and black tea, dried apricots, vanilla, and clove. The finish is long and tart with lemon, black tea, and honey notes. Consistent and good. (December, 2013)
