Talisker Storm
Country: Scotland
Region: Highlands
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 45.8%
Score: 92 Points
This is the traditional Talisker “turned up to 11”, for Spinal Tap fans. With no age statement needed, Diageo master blender Maureen Robinson was able to select some younger and more intense Talisker casks for this expression.
The result is a single malt with a smoky and peppery nose with touches of creosote, ginger root, honey, and a soft brininess. The taste is spicy and thick with black pepper, cinnamon, peat smoke, honey and vanilla notes, and a hint of brine that comes up as the spices fade. The finish is briny and long with subtle pettiness and a hint of pepper. Very nice! (October, 2013)
