Four Roses 2013 125th Anniversary Limited Edition Small Batch

Region: Kentucky
Type: Bourbon
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 55%
Score: 94 Points
Each fall, Four Roses master distiller Jim Rutledge shares one of his unusual Bourbons with us. This year’s version uses three of the ten different Four Roses recipes, with the whiskies ranging from 13 to 18 years old.
The nose is warm and smooth, with baked apples and peaches covered in cinnamon, honey, vanilla, and nutmeg notes. The taste has a great balance of spicy pepper and cinnamon with apple and peach notes underneath, and touches of fresh berries come out as the spices fade. The finish is long and smooth with notes of vanilla and chocolate-covered cherries. Excellent! (August, 2013)
