Woodford Reserve Master's Collection Straight Malt. Image courtesy Woodford Reserve. This is one of the two single malts Woodford Reserve produced for the 2013 Master’s Collection, and was matured in new charred oak barrels — hence the “Straight Malt” designation. The “Classic Malt” was matured in used barrels, and is similar to single malts from Scotland and other countries.

The nose on this version is soft and clean with malt, straw, honey, and vanilla notes. The taste starts off with caramel candy and cocoa notes, followed by a spicy burst of cinnamon with honey underneath and hints of vanilla and oak in the background. The finish is long and smooth with softly fading spices and honey. (December, 2013)
