In this case, “Helios” means “peak” – and just 307 bottles of this single cask expression of The Glenlivet came from a second-fill hogshead cask. The nose is aromatic and fruity with notes of heather, gorse, and dried rose petals adding a flowery touch along with honey, banana, vanilla, and cooked coconut. The taste is mouth-coating with notes of raspberry jam, a spicy hint of white pepper, blood oranges, vanilla, and ginger root. The finish is long, smooth, and dry with a slight citrusy tartness.
