The nose is oaky with notes of burnt popcorn, pipe tobacco, vanilla, and fudge. The taste is also oaky with pipe tobacco, and a note of leather at first that’s followed by a spicy burst of black pepper with hints of honey and fudge underneath. The finish is long, oaky, and ashy. In my opinion, perhaps a bit too long in the barrel judging from the oakiness. (August, 2015)
