Kilchoman Machir Bay 2014 Edition

Country: Scotland

Region: Islay

Type: Single Malt

Bottler: Distiller

ABV: 45%

Score: 91 Points

Kilchoman Machir Bay. Photo courtesy Kilchoman. The nose on this Islay single malt has a soft peatiness, along with driftwood smoke, honey, vanilla, and a nice maltiness. The taste is thick and spicy with cinnamon, peat smoke, and a hint of black pepper…along with notes of caramel candy, chocolate, vanilla, and heather that come out as the spices fade. The finish is long, subtle, and smooth with a gentle hint of smokiness. Very nice! (April, 2016)
