Glen Scotia Double Cask
Country: Scotland
Region: Campbeltown
Type: Single Malt
Bottler: Distiller
ABV: 46%
Score: 87 Points
This Campbeltown whisky starts off in ex-Bourbon casks, then is finished in Pedro Ximenez Sherry casks. The nose is buttery-smooth with cocoa, oak, licorice, honey, vanilla, and dried fruits. The taste is thick, spicy, and fruity with red apples, vanilla, a hint of cinnamon, licorice, figs, and dates with an excellent balance. The finish is long, fruity, and mouth-coating with a good balance of spices and fruit. Very nice. (September, 2015)
