Rev. Elijah’s 18-Year-Old Single Barrel Bourbon is Back!

Elijah Craig 18 Year Old Single Barrel Bourbon. Image courtesy Heaven Hill.October 15, 2015 – After three long years of prayers from devoted Bourbon lovers, Heaven Hill has brought back the Elijah Craig 18 Year Old Single Barrel Bourbon. The whiskey named for Rev. Elijah Craig, reputed to have been one of Kentucky’s earliest distillers during Colonial days, was taken off the market in 2012 because of limited supplies of aged Bourbon that met the standards of Heaven Hill’s Master Distillers Parker and Craig Beam.

Now, Craig Beam and Denny Potter, named earlier this year as Co-Master Distiller following Parker Beam’s naming as Master Distiller Emeritus for health reasons, have selected enough barrels to produce around 15,000 bottles of the 18 Year Old Single Barrel. The revived expression has a slightly different label than the original 18-year-old, in keeping with changes made to other Elijah Craig expressions (Small Batch, Barrel Proof, and the 23 Year Old Single Barrel) since 2012.

The 18 Year Old Single Barrel will be available in most major US cities with a recommended retail price of $120 per 750ml bottle. In addition, Heaven Hill is also releasing a new – and limited – batch of the Elijah Craig 23 Year Old Single Barrel with a recommended retail price of $199.

Tasting notes for the new version of Elijah Craig 18 Year Old Single Barrel will be available soon at WhiskyCast.com.
