Wild Turkey 101 17 Years Old (2001 Export Release)

Country: USA

Region: Kentucky

Type: Bourbon

Bottler: Distiller

ABV: 50.5%

Score: 94 Points

This was a special release of 17-year-old Wild Turkey 101 bottled in 2001 for sale exclusively in Japan, and longtime Wild Turkey fans will note that this is much older than the 15-year limit Jimmy Russell usually puts on his Bourbons. The nose has a good oakiness, along with notes of vanilla, honey, muted spices, and a hint of brown sugar. The taste has a great balance that comes alive with pepper and a hint of cinnamon, along with charred oak, honey, vanilla, and brown sugar sweetness. The finish is long, but subtle with touches of spice, oak, and caramel candy. Excellent! (July, 2018)
