Westland First Peated American Single Malt. Image courtesy Westland Distillery. This peated single malt from Seattle’s Westland Distillery is matured for 24 months, though it would be hard to tell that from trying it.

The nose has a mild peaty smokiness with a soft oakiness and notes of allspice, honey, and caramel. The taste is full of cinnamon and honey with hints of peat, allspice, clove, and caramel candy. The finish is long and sweet with honey, brown sugar, soft cinnamon, and hints of smoke. (February, 2014)
