The Whisky Agency Speyside Region 1973 Blended Malt. Image courtesy The Whisky Exchange. This exclusive bottling for The Whisky Exchange comes from a 43-year-old blend of single malts from various unidentified Speyside distilleries. The nose is fruity and sweet with a subtle touch of citrus, dried apple chips, brown sugar, subtle spices, and a hint of oak. The taste starts off creamy and smooth, followed by a great buildup of cilantro, herbs, and dried fruits. There’s an excellent balance and complexity here, as the spices eventually reveal hints of shortbread cookies, vanilla scones, and a hint of spearmint leading into the finish. The finish is gentle and subtle with that touch of spearmint, dried fruits, soft spices, and a hint of dried flowers. Excellent! (January, 2019)
