The Tyrconnell 15 Madeira Cask Finish

Country: Ireland

Region:

Type: Single Malt

Bottler: Distiller

ABV: 46%

Score: 92 Points

The Tyrconnell 15 Year Old Madeira Cask Finish. Image courtesy Beam Suntory. This Irish single malt was matured for 15 years in ex-Bourbon barrels, then finished in Madeira wine casks from Portugal. The nose has notes of shortbread cookies, vanilla, honey, red apples, and a hint of brown sugar. The taste starts off creamy with a nice, thick mouthfeel before the spices kick in along with fresh peaches, a touch of citrus, and a hint of spearmint. The finish is long and crisp with spices that last and last, peaches, and a hint of spearmint. Excellent! (April, 2018)
