Baltimore’s Sagamore Spirit took their MGP-sourced Rye whiskey and finished it in Port wine casks from wineries in Portugal and Maryland to create this whiskey. The nose is fruity with notes of peaches, apricots, gentle spices, and a hint of honey. The taste has good spices with clove, cinnamon, and allspice notes balanced by peaches, apricots, toffee, and a hint of plums. The finish is long with gently fading spices, honey, peaches, and a hint of orange marmalade. Very nice! (October, 2018)
