Pure Scot Virgin Oak Blended Scotch Whisky. Image courtesy Bladnoch Distillery Company. This blended Scotch from Bladnoch Distillery Company and master blender Ian Macmillan takes the regular Pure Scot blend and finishes it in new American Oak casks, while also bottling it at a higher strength of 43% ABV. The nose has notes of linseed oil, licorice, honey, vanilla, oak tannins, and a hint of caramel. The taste has notes of dried fruits and good spices that don’t overpower the sweeter notes of honey, vanilla, and caramel candy, while a hint of oak in the background brings them all together. The finish is long and smooth. (April. 2018)
