Number One Drinks Company's Karuizawa Noh 1983 Japanese Single Malt. Image courtesy Number One Drinks Company. This 28-year-old Karuizawa was matured in an ex-Sherry butt and bottled in 2012. The nose is dark and aromatic with notes of black cherries, black tea, espresso beans, dark chocolate, a slight nuttiness, and hints of toffee and maple. The taste is spicy and fruity with good cinnamon and coriander notes balanced by figs, plums, toffee, a touch of oak shavings, and a hint of barbecued beef. The finish is long, tangy, and robust. Outstanding! (May, 2017)
