Jim Beam Repeal Batch

Country: USA

Region: Kentucky

Type: Bourbon

Bottler: Distiller

ABV: 43%

Score: 90 Points

Jim Beam Repeal Batch Bourbon. Image courtesy Jim Beam. This is a limited-edition release to celebrate the 85th anniversary of the end of Prohibition, and is both non-chill filtered and bottled at 43% ABV instead of Jim Beam’s standard 40% ABV. The nose has classic Bourbon notes of honey, vanilla, cocoa beans, caramel, and muted spices. The taste is smooth and spicy with a nice buildup of pepperiness that doesn’t overwhelm the sweeter notes of honey, vanilla, and caramel underneath, while a hint of cinnamon comes out gradually. The finish has a hint of cinnamon with a lingering pepperiness and underlying notes of honey and caramel. (September, 2018)
