Highland Park Full Volume. Image ©2017, Mark Gillespie/CaskStrength Media. This Orkney single malt was distilled in 1999 and matured in 100% ex-Bourbon barrels until it was bottled in 2017. The nose has a sweet smokiness with grilled fruits, honey, vanilla, orange peel, and a hint of dried flowers. The taste has a good balance of sweetness, spices, and smokiness with citrus fruits, allspice, cardamom, ginger, honey, and vanilla. The finish is long with a touch of honey barbecue sauce smoke, lingering citrus tartness, and a hint of spices. Very nice! (November, 2017)
