Gordon & MacPhail Private Collection Longmorn 1961 Cask #508. Image courtesy Gordon & MacPhail. This is one of two 1961 Longmorn single casks selected by identical twins Stuart and Richard Urquhart, and Richard picked this European Oak ex-Sherry cask as his choice for the twin 57-year-old single malts. The nose is aromatic with touches of cedar, sandalwood, brandy, plums, and honey. The taste is thick, chewy and tart with notes of lemon zest, orange marmalade, oak tannins, soft spices, and dark chocolate. The finish is long, oaky, and slightly dry. (October, 2018)
