Glenfiddich Project XX. Image courtesy Glenfiddich. This is part of Glenfiddich’s experimental series of single malts, and the XX refers to the 20 brand ambassadors from around the world who picked individual casks for Malt Master Brian Kinsman to blend together. The result is a whisky unlike any other Glenfiddich expression, with a clean, warm nose full of honey, brandy, red grapes, subtle spices, a hint of candied pear, orange peel, and a touch of butterscotch. The taste has a great balance with good spicy notes of clove, white pepper, and ginger root balanced by honey, brown sugar, orange peel, and dried flowers. The finish is long with lingering spices balanced by honey, vanilla, and dried fruits. Excellent! (April, 2017)
