Fettercairn Fior. Image courtesy Whyte & Mackay. Fior is Gaelic for “strong”, and this expression of Fettercairn released in 2010 helped revive the distillery’s reputation.

The nose has mild spices, with nutmeg, ginger, allspice, hints of honey, vanilla, and dried fruits. The taste has good spices, with cinnamon, clove, mild nutmeg, ginger, red apples, and peaches with a good complexity. The finish is smooth and lingering with rich spicy notes of cinnamon and clove and hints of dried fruits. (January, 2014)
