Ardbeg Ardbog. Image courtesy Ardbeg. Ardbeg’s annual limited edition release for 2013 is a 10-year-old single malt matured in a combination of ex-Bourbon and ex-Manzanilla wine casks and bottled at cask-strength 52.1% ABV. The nose is smoky and salty with notes of prosciutto, olives, and fresh bread baking in the oven. The taste has notes of salt-cured bacon, touches of smoke and maple, heather, clove, and dark chocolate. The finish is syrupy and long with a kiss of smoke. (May, 2013)
